Just in to Cedar Rock is this fabulous Buendia with a stunning set of Wedge back and side wood with a Engelmann Spruce top. Anyone who knows Ervin Somogyi’s work will immediately recognize this Modified Dreadnought (Mod-D) design. The waist is nipped in the manner of a classical and shifted further forward compared to a standard dreadnought. Because the waist is higher up on the instrument, shifting its center of gravity and making it easier to balance and providing the player with a more comfortable playing position. This innovative model remains a mainstay of artists who require acoustic volume without compromising the quality of higher frequencies. We are always blown away by Leo’s attention to detail on his build, and this one just proves that once again. The tone is huge with that Somogyi low end depth and the trebles are silky smooth. This one a lifetime keeper.
