]]>It’s always a joy to have one of Marc’s guitars at Cedar Rock. This is our first traditionally-voiced model from him but Marc still managed to make it his own. The smooth mids and cello-like bass voice can still be heard from his non-traditional models but the mids and trebles still have that woody dryness you’d heard in a vintage Martin. Very comfy guitar with a balanced voice perfect for recording. We loved how great the string separation and responsiveness was on this one.

]]>Just in to Cedar Rock is this amazing Beneteau MJ with a stunning set of African Blackwood and a tight grained European spruce top. It has Snakewood trim and tuner buttons. This guitar was custom ordered by Dustin Furlow here at Cedar Rock. The tone is rich and full throughout the tonal spectrum with great clarity and string separation. It loves drop tunings clear down to C with ease with the fan fret multiscale. This is a exceptional guitar.

]]>We will start by saying this was Dustin Furlow’s main studio/performance guitar for a few years and was used on the EP “Solo” (tracks: “Evergreen”, “Once More With Feeling”, and “Irene”) and it’s likely you can find a number of other recordings of it online. In Dustin’s words “It was the first Beneteau I’d owned and since then have commissioned two from him. Marc’s neck profile is the best I’ve come across and the clear response in the trebles and mids with cello-like bass are just a few of the things that make his guitars perfect for modern fingerstyle and singer/songwriter material alike”. This one has a 16″ lower bout with tight-grained Carpathian spruce making it a powerhouse of a guitar that also responds clearly to the softest touch. Though the lower bout width is a hair wider than the average concert model, the body depth is only 4.25″. Combine that with the tight waist and arm bevel and you have a guitar you can play for hours without getting strained. The Ebony is bold-sounding in the low end with extremely clear trebles, making it akin to characteristics found in rosewood guitars. Includes a K&K Trinity UST/Microphone combo so you’re all set for the stage as well!

]]>A favorite of fingerstyle-guitarist Dustin Furlow, it was used on 7 of the 10 tracks on his album “Woodscapes”. The tone is deep and powerful, while the trebles are pristine and full of fundamental note value. You get it all with this guitar. The African Blackwood carries a dark, rich low-end content while the European top lets the upper-mid and treble response cut through with ease for complex fingerstyle pieces. The Laskin arm-bevel makes long practice sessions a breeze and the neck is extremely comfortable “C” profile. Did we mention the looks? Rich golden Koa ties the dark Blackwood together with the aged, honey tone of the European top. Truly a beautiful looking and sounding guitar by Marc Beneteau.
